Q: What drives your passion for education and your dedication to FisherONE’s mission?
A: My passion for education is driven by a desire to connect, empower, and transform students to be future-ready, and grounded in a 21st-century Mercy charism. At FisherONE, I’m inspired by the opportunity to guide both students and staff toward holistic growth while fostering a faith-centered, innovative learning environment.
Q: What inspired you to take on such a dynamic role in hybrid learning at FisherONE?
A: FisherONE’s mission to deliver innovative, high-quality education across Queensland deeply resonated with my belief in leveraging technology to enhance learning. The chance to be part of a pioneering team, shaping the future of hybrid learning, and supporting both educators and students inspired me to embrace this dynamic role.
Q: Can you share how establishing Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) has impacted teacher collaboration and student outcomes? PLCs are groups of educators that meet regularly, share expertise, and work collaboratively to improve teaching skills and the academic performance of students.
A: PLCs have been transformative in fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. By sharing best practices and providing constructive feedback, teachers feel empowered to innovate and refine their pedagogical (best learning and teaching) approaches. This has directly enhanced teaching quality and, subsequently, student outcomes by creating a more cohesive and supportive learning environment.
Q: What excites you most about supporting and encouraging educators to explore new technologies in their teaching practices?
A: Encouraging educators to explore new technologies excites me because it unlocks innovative ways to engage students and enrich their learning experiences. At FisherONE, the integration of advanced tools like Microsoft Teams has allowed us to create more interactive, inclusive, and impactful teaching methods.
